no clever title. just delicious food and technological breakthroughs.

“Breakfast is the most important meal of the day.”

That’s crap.  BRUNCH is far superior.  Especially when it includes your favorite ladies and a magnum bottle of champagne.  Last weekend I hosted just this  fantastic of an occasion.

Sparkles brought Fruit Bruschetta.

Raffles brought a Watermelon, Orzo, and Feta Salad.

Liscious made heavenly Blueberry Scones.

Slow Motion brought Rosemary Hash Browns (no recipe, just culinary genius).

And I made quiche!  Not just any “egg, maybe some cheese, on a dry crust” quiche–I made Pioneer Woman Quiche. Brimming with fillings nestled inside a flaky crust.

AND–guess who figured out how to give you nice, printable versions of recipes?

But fret not–I wouldn’t dare deprive you of my awe-inspiring photography and flawless culinary technique.  Here’s how it all went down:

flour + shortening. do not fear the crisco.

approximately 1/2 of an egg...created by literally squishing the yolk in two in my hand. murderer. murderer!

if you want your crust to be nice to you, you must be nice to it. handle with care.

on to the toppings! mandolin-sliced and injury-free onions

its not a party without some 'shrooms. i used crimini and baby bella. not the psychedelic ones. come on, people.

in an effort to be "healthy," i used turkey bacon for the first time ever.

it is offiically the weirdest. stuff. ever. more closely related to Spam than bacon. scary. (shudder)

a hot little mixer for everyone to get to know each other.
